GamesCare, the team behind the GF1 Neptune, has issued a statement on the project's current state. The Neptune was an unreleased Sega console design, a Genesis with a built-in cartridge slot that was cancelled before launch, and GamesCare's GF1 is an unofficial modern recreation of it. The statement, posted on the company's Twitter account, says unspecified complications have drained its financial resources, while GamesCare continues to receive many emails asking when the console will become available. The group says the setback only strengthens its resolve to keep the project going.
