ProTracker 4.1 Released With Eight-Channel Support

A new version of the classic Amiga music tracker ProTracker has been released, numbered 4.1. It builds on ProTracker 4.0 Beta 2, which was created by Tom Beyer, Oliver Ickler and Haavard Pedersen in 1997 and had remained the last official release, with some documented features left unfinished. Version 4.1 keeps the original interface and adds eight-channel support, letting users load, play and save modules in the 8CHN, OCTA, CD81 and FLT8 formats, with VU meters and the analyzer now showing all eight tracks. The extra channels are mixed with good sound quality on faster Amigas, whilst an A500 with Fast-RAM is mentioned as a baseline configuration. ProTracker has long been a standard tool for composing music on the Amiga.
