A new minigl.library called RadeonGL has been released, enabling 3D acceleration on ATI Radeon R200-family cards (8500, 9000, 9100, 9200, 9250) for the Amiga. Unlike earlier approaches, it does not require Warp3D, instead controlling the Radeon's command processor directly while working alongside Picasso96. The library only accesses the card during bitmap locks, so Workbench keeps running normally. It is compatible with minigl.library 29.1, meaning existing MiniGL SDK programs can use it without changes, and GLQuake has reportedly reached up to 24.9 fps at 320×240 on an A4000D with a 68060/50 MHz CyberStorm MK II, Mediator board and Radeon 9200 under AmigaOS 3.
